Another commit by Coach Shalane. Canadian Charlotte Sinke will be joining the squad. She has high school PRs of 2:49/1000M/ 4:22/1500; 9:18/3k; and 9:57/2Mile which she ran at Nike Outdoor Nationals back in June at Hayward. Looks to be more of a 3k/5k type that can dabble in mile when needed. Her range fits in well with the rest of the squad. Another top notch recruit that doesn't have to come in making an immediate impact next year now that there is quite of bit of depth ahead of her.

A few weeks ago we had a number of recruits in town: Emma Zawatski - since has committed to Colorado Isabel Conde Frankenberg - I mentioned her before Allison Ince - 400m, 54.91; 800m, 2:03.17; 1500m, 4:22.39 Makenzie McRae - 1600m, 4:53.84; 3200m, 10:22.90 Isabel and Allison are 5-star recruits and would be huge 800m additions for this program mostly built with 1500m runners. It’s official. Ali Ince has committed to the Lady Ducks! Huge, huge get for this middle distance program!

Yes getting a commitment from Ali Ince is spectacularly huge. It's going to be hard to wait over a yeat to see her run as a Duck. We have so much to look forward to now as Track Duck fans.
As we are seeing in Oregon football, good coaching starts with recruiting the best athletes, and Shalane and Jerry are checking that box.

Another great pickup by Shalane. There is definitely a big difference between her recruiting and the Helenes. While this year's XC squad didn't play out as anticipated there is so many bullets in barrel she is loading for the future and which is sure to net her a top 5 team in the future at some point on the grass.

I just hope that we don't have to wait TWO years to see her run. I fear that because there seems to be a belief, from this staff, that a redshirt year is good for them. I have to admit, if we didn't have this board, we would never know about the recruitment of these "best athletes". I'm still scratching my head about the lack of information from GODUCKS. Nevertheless, THANK YOU, Chile for this board. We'd be lost without it.

Atlas the most anticipated signing this year...Mia Brahe-Pedersen will be making her college decision on Thursday. The choices are between USC, Georgia, LSU, Texas, and Oregon. I am kinda nervous but excited to see where she lands. She will do well wherever that may be...off course she will get a lot of love being a Duck!!!!

Thank you NateB for the heads up on Mia. I will keep my fingers crossed. I would guess if she indeed signs with the Duck, a surge in fannies in Hayward's great seats will follow. Also, names like Pre, Ashton, Galen (Oregon children) will soon include Mia on the mouths of Duck fans.

I think all of us are waiting to see where she chooses to attend college. The fact that she had Oregon as one of her 5 official visits is encouraging, but to my knowledge her coach has never shown a preference for Oregon. Though one cannot guarantee future trends of youngsters, she certainly has accomplished a lot up to this point, has maintained relative good health, and would seem to be a nice addition to anyone's sprint group.

Not sure how much, if any, to read into it but, per her IG, Mia's official visits to those 5 schools were: Oct 2022: Georgia Nov 2022: USC Sept 2023: Texas Oct 12 2023: LSU Oct 20 2023: Oregon Based solely on the visit schedule, gotta think Oregon is in a decent spot. TBD. Others visiting UO the same weekend: Meagan Humphries(california). just committed to Texas Skylynn Townsend(texas) Niya Clayton(california) Cassandra katkins(washington)
