After the discussion we had last June about how to show changes to a form chart during a competition, I finally got around to settling in on a method but I'd like more input if possible. Here is an example from the 2019 outdoor championships using T&F News form chart after Day 1 when all the prelims have been run and some finals in field events and the 10,000m. The +/- numbers show changes from the original score projection shown in column 1. So you can see Houston picked up 5 points after preliminary events and picked up another 8 points when Trumaine Jefferson came out of the pack and placed second in the Long Jump. ▲▼ numbers show the movement up or down the rank ordered list of teams. So Houston has jumped up 4 positions from 7th to 3rd. Here's what chart looks like at the end of the competition: I could alternatively, instead of showing the position change number, could show the original position number in the first column like this: But I think I like the first method better but I'd be interested in hearing from you.

All are great, but I too like the first one.

Chile, I am confused. In the first chart, you show no "scored finals" for Oregon or Stanford. Oregon is then not listed at all in the second and third chart, yet Stanford is shown?

The second chart is at the end of the competition and Oregon has dropped out of the top 10 ( after Cooper Teare unfortunately failed to pick up 5 projected points in the 5K, and losing 3 more projected points in the 4x1.) Listing the top 20 shows what happened.... sorry if this isn't clear. Would it be better to show the total column (the one with the final score) in the first column and show the original projection points in the last column? Here is the top 20 and you can see what happened to Oregon.
