Speaking of Desert Heat, I only live 35-40 miles from the track. I'm willing to provide transportation and lodging to anyone who wants to save a little money and still go to the meet. I can pick anyone up from and to the airport. I was worried that they would send several more people to Penn and only a few to Tucson. They never send distance runners to Tucson.

And they probably never will, given the potential (even in April) for a scorchingly hot day, plus you're at a bit of altitude (2400'), thus the combination makes little sense if you're trying to get NCAA-qualifying times. Now throwing is a different thing and I see we've got our best entered.

Big season best (and best since joining Oregon) by Shelby Moran to start the day in Arizona! Two throws over 229' puts her #3 in the NCAA so far this year. Her PR from Arizona State when she finished 5th at the 2022 NCAAs is 231' 7".
New PR for Mason Strunk in round 3, at 226' 9", to move into 3rd in the Pac-12. Still has three more throws...
New PR for Shelby Moran in the discus, just one inch shy of 180'. She also has three more throws...

Jaida tied her collegiate record, and ALL her throws were over 62 feet!

My own thoughts on the Desert Heat meet.
Most troubling development: Aliyah McCormick injury. I think she nicked the first hurdle which put her slightly off balance, clearly hit the second, landed awkwardly and immediately stumbled to the track holding her hamstring. An hour later I saw her limping very badly. She told me that she would find out today how bad it is. I'm not very encouraged about the outcome.
Lots of good news: Shelby Moran improved on every single throw until her last where it landed over 70 meters away. Mason Strunk then moved into third on the all-time UO list. Jaida Ross equaled her collegiate record. Several PB's. Ryann Porter, although competing unattached, would have the 8th best TJ.
The stadium at U of Arizona is very well suited to interacting with athletes and coaches. Every single athlete and coach I chatted with were EXTREMELY approachable and friendly. None were standoffish nor self-centered. Every athlete expressed gratitude for my interest and freely opened up to me, even to ask my name and shake my hand. This is a fine group of men and women.
