Not a good look for Jerry regardless of how it happened.

Crap, that really sucks.
Will he be able to claim a redshirt year for the outdoor season?

Hi Ole! My understanding is that Oregon will need to petition the NCAA with a request for reinstatement of his Frosh year. Good luck in dealing with those folks.

Blue chip recruits like that don't often spend a full 4 years in college. I seldom have much hope for their staying for their entire college eligibility.

Blue chip recruits like that don't often spend a full 4 years in college. I seldom have much hope for their staying for their entire college eligibility. That was my initial thought too, but things have recently changed with NIL and the transfer portal. Athletes are now opting to stay in college longer as they can get paid with NIL money and can easily transfer to schools to complete degrees and get better training for the next level. We are seeing this in football for sure (e.g. Oregon QBs Box Nix and now Dillon Gabriel) where sometimes the NIL money is at least as good as going professional. Maybe Micah Williams is an example of this trend starting in track and field. BTW I see that Mia Brahe-Pedersen also has suffered a season ending injury which will end her high school career. Athlete injuries are the worst part of being a sports fan.
