It definitely was nice to see so many Ducks competing the weekend. Jaida Ross never fails to surprise with her results...she is so explosive, and seems to enjoy every moment of the competition. I was especially impressed with the strength shown by the Oregon mid-distance runners - both men and women. Anthony Trucks had a very nice day, especially in the prelims of the 60 meter hurdles. Having Grebo lead off the 4 X 4 was a welcome surprise and bodes well for the relay team dropping another few seconds, especially if Grebo can get into a little better shape. Both the men's and women's teams had some problems with stumbles on the rail - something to work on. I missed the reason for Tomas Palfrey's DQ in the mile. I thought he was the guy getting jostled, but must have missed something else. At this point the only major MIA's seem to be Cook and Harrison. Hopefully both of them will be back in a couple weeks. In any event, lots of impressive all-time top 10 Indoor performances, and still lots that can be improved upon. Nate, you seem to have some info on their issues, can you expand?

It's been rumored that Harrison came down with Mono in the fall and Cook I believe had a small setback during the holiday break. Probably best to focus on getting fully healthy for outdoors for both.

Nate, as always I appreciate your "inside" info. Now that you mention it, it does seem that I had previously heard something about Harrison's mono. Though I'd like to see Cook run some more Indoors, with the men's team not an Indoor podium threat this year, it makes sense to have him fully healthy for Outdoor season.

Any inside info on Connor Burns, Simeon Birnbaum, and Will Heslam?

I was wondering if Connor Burns "burned" his redshirt and used his eligibility for Indoors 2024 when he ran in Boston in December?

I don't have any info on the freshman who aren't competing. I would imagine they are just going the process of getting their health/fitness up to where it needs to be in order to be competitive. This is a World Junior's championship year outdoors so there could be a goal of getting them in position to make that team who knows. I too have wondered if the early season competition for Burns will count towards eligibility. I would imagine that because it was so early there would be a small window or case that can be made for that competition not to count. Who knows maybe he will make another appearance indoors. I think out of all the ones in question Burns and Cook would be the ones most likely to make an appearance again indoors.
