I think many of us are awaiting the chance to see Silan Ayyildiz, from Turkey, run as an Oregon Duck. Prior to her transfer to Oregon, as a member of the South Carolina team, she won the SEC championship at 1500 meters, and has a mile PR of 4:32. She comes across as a shy, but intelligent, and focused young lady. Hopefully, we will see another interview from which we can get some details as to why she chose to transfer to Oregon. No doubt, if she stays healthy, she could be a major contributor this season. Here is the 20 minute video of her interview:

Thanks Mallardg. Tim Hall, associate head coach at Kentucky, was hired as the new head coach at South Carolina. They have a new distance coach which is why I’m assuming it gave her the opportunity to to transfer to Oregon. I'm sure she was impressed with Oregon placing 3 in the 1500 finals in last year's outdoor championships. I laughed when the interviewer said that the SEC was the best in any event.

I saw her run several times on the SEC Network. A great addition.
