A couple clips from the mile events today in Boston. The first doesn't show much of the Oregon women but Klauda Kazimierska (you can see her in 2nd in the first part of the clip) came in 4th in 4:37.16 (~5 sec off her PB) and Ella Nelson had a +5 second new PB 4:40.60. Sam McDonnell ran 4:45.05
In the second clip Elliott Cook has a strong finish nearly catching Sam Ellis finishing in 3:55.50 just missing a PB by a few hundreds. Thomas Palfrey (see him in 2nd place in the first part of the clip) ran 4:04.42. Alex Slenning won the second heat in 4:04.13

Maddy Elmore!!! Continues to impress with a new school record in the indoor 3000m. I guess that qualifies as a good start to the indoor season Current Oregon top 10.

Maddy does indeed impress me. The all time list of past Duck greats was totally impressive and now Maddy has the best time for a Duck lady. And she beat Kaylee Mitchell for Oregon State. Very impressive. Even more impressive are the clips Chile posted of the races. Sure wished I had more tech ability. Heck, I am even to cheap to buy subscriptions for the many different streams. Chile, thank you for this site.

Some decent results so far from the Duck contigent. What I have seen is the runners who have been more patient in their races have had the better success. Palfrey got out too fast IMO in the mile as did Noakes in the 3k. Elmore did well managing herself and moving up throughout the race trusting the pace ahead of her. Aiden Smith and Balasz looked like there was more in the tank especially Balasz who could've taken over the race with about 800 to go as nobody else could match him. I believe all of the freshman (redshirts and true) who ran the 3k today will run in the 7:50s before the indoor season is over.
Side note I have been wondering for weeks where is Jed?

That photo on the GODUCKS/Track and Field page is one of a legend and her understudy. It's wonderful!

Connor Burns already has a reputation as a free spirit living outside the box. I haven't seen any reaction yet to his apparent lap count goof last night in the 5th heat of the 5000m but in case you didn't see it, I saved a clip for you. He ended up 14th in 14:00.43 while Josh Edwards was 8th in 13:55.44. Izaiah Steury was back in 17th in 14:23.13. Connor did a big favor (maybe) to Leo Young who was launched by Connor's penultimate lap surge to nearly winning the heat. Have to wonder what the outcome would have been if Burns hadn't made the ultimate indoor track rookie mistake. Remember Connor Burns broke Galen Rupp's Outdoor High School 5K record last spring in 13:37.30
