After the conclusion of the NCAA championships we have transfer portal season. Since these recruits have different eligibility than the high school recruits I decided to created them their own thread.
It appears that South Carolina transfer Rachel Glenn is considering the Ducks and has taken a visit. She jumped 1.93m / 6-4 at NCAAs in 2021 to win the championships. She is listed as a junior on the USC website although I see no competitions for her this year so she may have 2 years of eligibility remaining. She can also run 56.43 in the 400m hurdles and would be a great addition to the 4x400m relay team.

Outstanding thread but I hope that it gets longer … and I imagine that it will.

Great news. This is interesting, because Pima CC is in Tucson, where the U of Arizona has produced some very good high jumpers.

Also as a HS Frosh he jumped 7' 1.5" at the Montana state championships, which appears to be the only time he has scaled 7' in competition.

Ralford Mullings of Jamaica and previously at ASU is in the transfer portal. He transferred to Arkansas last year after getting 3rd in the nation in the discus under Coach Blu in 2022 as a freshman. He regressed this year only getting 16th at nationals. He has a PB of 214’ 6” and 61’ 7” in the shot put. Will he be able to reunite with Coach Blu at Oregon next year? Is it even something he’s considering?

I did find him as the age 14 world record holder from a source but I don’t know how official the source is or if that’s something that is tracked seriously. The Australian miler has broken the age 16 world record and now age 17 world record for the 1500m so someone is tracking those stats.

The fact that we have another Jamaican thrower coming in might be a small but helpful attraction for him.

Glad that the men's team have gotten at least a couple of transfers so far. The women's team is in desperate need of multiple transfers in various event groups in order to really be a serious National title contender on the track and also a podium contender in XC. I definitely try to keep a positive perspective and I could very much be wrong but so far the Ducks have been on the losing side of the big domino that Solinsky created on the Women's distance side at a national level by leaving Florida. The new distance coach at Florida has brought several of his former athletes with him and have picked up several huge transfers from New Mexico and now Florida is probably a podium team in XC which then also means they are now even stronger on the track too. On the Women's side Colorado, and Florida have gotten an onslaught top female distance transfers along with NC State, and Washington. While Jerry, Shalane, and Solinksy have done a great job at the high school level recruiting but I think the key to being dominant again is going to have to require some transfers as well. Coach Curtis is also in desperate need of some transfers in the sprints/hurdles. Coach Henson could use some LJ/TJs. The holes are going to start getting in pretty big soon in certain areas if they don't get plugged by transfers or recruits who decide not to go PRO LOL!!!.

Yes, Nate. There has been a lot of action in the portal and nothing regarding new commits to Oregon. Hoping we can turn it around before the end of the transfer window.
