A few questions remain as to whom coach Johnson will ask to run the DMR this evening. Ladies first. The most logical legs for the ladies would be Burdon doing the 1200, Anderson, Dunmore or Waller the 400, Feldmeier the 800 and Rainsberger the mile. But, Rainsberger and Feldmeier are not listed in an individual event. Did the make the trip? I would "guess" that Southerland and Hull would be the replacements. Men. In the 400, I would guess either Stone or Emilien. The 800 would probably be either Stanovsek or Hoey and the 1200 and mile pool would be Prankel, West or Haney. Maton would be a possible leg but he seems to have disappeared. Scheduled time of competition today, Friday the 26th: W DMR 6:19pm Oregon lane 2 M DMR 6:32 Oregon lane 9

My take on today's DMR is that Rainsberger and Feldmeier will run and thus were held out of individual events in order to put their best feet forward and get DMR qualifying out of the way. Should they wish to run tomorrow, I'm sure the meet organizers would find a way to squeeze them in. A part of me is thinking that the strategy for the men will be to focus on individual titles, given that the 1200/mile pool entrants are all running the mile tomorrow. RJ mentioned Notre Dame as a back up and given the super fast mile field assembled with pros and collegians, it's reasonable to guess that this is the time and place to get a mile qualifier (last year it took 3:58.53 to make it to College Station).
