Thanks Phil, Been around since 1932 (85 years) I experienced my first love of Duck Track back in 1962 when I attended my first NCAA Track and Field Championship meet. I will always remember that meet as my initiation as a Duck fan. At my age though, I do tend to be forgetful but not entirely. At that meet I had the pleasure of watching the Men of Oregon clean house. There was one of my all time favorite ducks Mel Renfro in the hurdles and broadjump, Terry Lewellyn the high jumper who almost won the event as I recall even though he only stood about 5'6". Jerry Tarr won the hurdles, both highs and 440 yards. The javalin throwers did fantastic also, but I may be getting my championships out of order. One of them was a kid named Burns from Crater High in my neck of the woods. Dyrol Burleson was the miler. But the point being. I am looking forward to the season, and always have high hopes for the ducks, both men and women. I'm happy for this site, and I do believe it will work. If you're a duck fan, you will find the site. I thank you for your contribution to it and am looking forward to learning from other posters on the site. One point I wish to make is that the duck track and field program was the salvation for the University of Oregon for many years, even a few years before Pre! although he's the legend and will never be forgotten. but long before the ducks made a splash in football, they were internationally known as a track school. First under Bill Hayward, then Bill Bowerman, Bill Dellinger, from my home town of Grants Pass. You could always get a lift from the ducks track and field teams, even when football and other sports couldn't deliver. Thanks for allowing me to become a member of this site. It's appreciated very much.
