Entries are posted. Mostly Men of Oregon entered. A bit more participation in the non-distance events than I expected, and missing the long distance crew, while most of the middle distance men are entered. Good to see Junior Schumacher entered. Devin Hart competing unattached. www.rtspt.com/events/stanford/invite24/accepted_college.htm

Also, Emily Fitzsimmons has been missing for a couple weeks.

As Chile posted under "Oregon Preview" topic, most of the middle distance crew looks ready to race. Unfortunately, the Ducks can't seem to avoid the rain as this week looks very Eugene-like at Stanford - cool and rainy. The current forecast for Friday and Saturday are mid-50's and showers, so hopefully the showers will subside during much of the meet.

www.rtspt.com/events/stanford/invite24/college_by_sections.htmThe heat sheets are out, and as I expected, the participation in certain events for the Ducks has dropped compared to the original entry lists, especially in the Men's 1500m. I suspect the weather forecasts had a significant impact on that. Most are still entered in the 800m on Saturday when the weather appears it will be slightly better. Lots of rain, wind, and chances of T-storms of Friday, which is somewhat unusual in these parts... I have attended this meet in the past, but will definitely be watching online this year.

Amazing run by Elmore I thought she run well at the 5k and even believed that it would better serve her to focus on that this year for the NCAA meet (because as the mile is too stacked and would be too many Ducks trying to qualify in the 1500) but I didn't know she would run that fast with seemingly much more in the tank. She was in 3rd to last place in the first 800 and slowly worked her way up over the next 2k being in the second pack at one point before connecting to lead pack at the 3k. She seemed antsy at certain points in the last 2k and it made sense after seeing how much more she had left over the other runners in the last 600 closing the last 400 in the 65 seconds. I have been impressed with her progress in the last 1.5 years but I must say I think this was one of the biggest performance for her and I believe her first individual win in a big race. Would also so that is probably one the biggest performances this year for the program as a whole. Should also note she was the only top runner in her race not wearing spikes which I am not sure how significant that is or not but it's unusual for fast 5ks to be run not wearing spikes.
Also credit to Anika Thompson who continues her streak of big PRs by breaking the into 32 minute territory in the 10k. She has made a huge leap in fitness over the last year and now stands at #5 in the top ten list in Oregon Women's 10k history.

Nice summary, Nate. It seems like each race I am getting more impressed with the development of Shalane's athletes. From an observer's standpoint, the chemistry and team comradery is very strong, and perhaps this is one of the keys to recent performances by Elmore, Thompson and Ayyidiz. I think you are correct in thinking the 5K will be a better choice than the 1500 at Nationals for Maddy. I think the same holds for Ayyidiz, while Thompson's chances lie more in the 10k. Klaudia Kazmierska will likely be Oregon's "go to" in the 1500. After a busy Indoor season, it is understandable that she is taking an early Outdoor season breather. Going further afield, Katie Clute is looking on track to add to Oregon's threats in the 3K Steeple, as would be Harper McClain. Does anyone here have insight as to her situation? During the Preview Meet, Chile pointed her out, sitting in the stands with several others. Looking for further indications of where this team could go, look no further than McDonnell and Barnett, both with experience and range. Overall, this is a team with great flexibility and potential as the season progresses.

There was an appearance by Devin Hart who just showed up on the goducks.com roster in the 10,000 last night, our new Graduate transfer via Stanford and Texas. He probably was out for a rust buster running a minute behind his PB. He is not yet on the TFRRS roster, but I assume will be once these Stanford Invitational results get posted.
And does anyone know why the 800m races are not on the result list page?

And does anyone know why the 800m races are not on the result list page? As you saw last night, Maddy was listed in the slow heat of the 3000m before the meet started, so they are posting start lists once the athletes have checked in and they know for sure who is running. Birnbaum was listed in the fast heat of the 1500m in the original heat sheets, but when it finally posted to the live results starting lists, he was not included. Once the women's 800m gets underway, they should start posting the means start lists.

... thanks ducktafnut. The most confusing live result page in awhile. The goducks.com article on last night results said Elliott Cook and Matthew Erickson are slated for competition in the top section with James Harding and Rheinhardt Harrison in section three. I notice Raevyn Rogers is about to run in section 1 of the women's 800.

Encouraging 800 meter opener for Matt Erickson (1:47.95). He finished a close 3rd, following 2nd place Elliott Cook (1:47.92) in a near dead heat. Running in the 1st heat, both Oregon runners were nipped by Wisconsin's Adam Spencer who went out at a near suicide first lap (52.21) and then faded to 55+, but not quite enough for the charging Ducks to catch him at the tape. Talented young runners, James Harding (1:51.36) and Rheinhardt Harrison (1:50.43) ran in the 3rd heat, getting a nice rust buster out of the way.
